Who You Are: You are motivated by the mission and purpose of bringing the world’s classical plays to life! We are seeking Rochester theatremakers who are especially drawn to the idea of a deep inquiry into the world of Anton Chekhov. We will compensate all positions: more information will be forthcoming.

ACTORS

Casting for all three plays will be in April and May of 2025. Our approach will be longform: it will take over a month, and you will have the time to do your best.

If cast in one or more plays, you will be part of a Chekhov company of actors that will meet periodically this summer and fall for immersion into the plays and period.

Staging rehearsals will begin roughly four weeks before performances.

DESIGNERS, STAGE MANAGERS, AND PRODUCTION STAFF

Given the parameters of the Multi-use Community Cultural Center, and the scale of Chekhov’s four-act plays, our designs and implementation will need imagination and detail. The three plays will be set in period, evoking late 19th century Russian countryside.
